Architect, interior designer, facade murals: András Füzes
Advisor: Ferenc Salamin
Housing private apartments, a café and the Coffee Manufactury, where visitors are served coffee and tea delicacies and a fabulous selection of cakes, this building reminiscent of the former Három Rózsa Inn, which stood on a corner plot on Tokaj’s main street. In order to blend into the traditional closed-row streetscape of Tokaj, the part of the old inn facing the main street was preserved and supplemented with a second floor, a gateway and a porch wing towards the rear end of the plot.
The sensitivity and confidence of the builder helped the architect to shape the image and welcoming atmosphere of the house, which has hosted a plethora of cultural events since it was opened to the public. In the café, the counter and the shelves were designed by the same architect, who also painted the three fresco secco murals that support the eaves from the street himself, depicting Tokaj’s coat-of-arms with the symbolic power of colours.
