The reconstruction works of the Sárospatak Basilica included the renovation of the carpentry structure and church exterior, the reconstruction of the red copper plating of the roof, the renewal of the western tower cap and the covering of the oratory.

The oratory above the southern entrance used to have a flat roof since that dated fro the 1960s. This was replaced with a gabled saddle roof raised with wooden columns, covered with copper sheet and decorated with artistic enamel work. The large window of the oratory was replaced with high-quality stained glass, and a carillon was installed in the attic of the southern avant-corps.

Outside, a specialist restorer comprehensively renewed the stonework, and the entire exterior plaster was renewed.

The new eastern sacristy was completed in 2022.

In 2020, the Archdiocese ordered artistically painted glass for all the wrought iron and iron windows of the hall church, based on the iconographic design of priest and art historian Antal Kuklay and the watercolours of painter Tibor Bráda. The artistic painting of the three windows on the eastern façade have already been completed, and it is excepted that the work will be finished in 2025.
